Racal was first to produce auto-ranging RF frequency meter,
voltmeter, and microwave counter; the first fully integrated, mobile
test platform for military deployment; the first modular instrument
and switching system; the first GSM Base Station commissioning
test set; the first Air Interface Protocol Test System for GSM,
CDMA and E/GPRS.

Acquired by EADS North America, Racal is set to extend their test
capabilities, enhancing their technology base, market position and
new product capabilities. The EADS Group includes the aircraft manufacturer Airbus, the world's largest helicopter supplier Eurocopter and the joint venture MBDA, the second largest missile producer in the global market.

EADS is a major partner in the Eurofighter consortium, is the prime contractor for the Ariane launcher, develops the A400M military
transport aircraft and is the largest industrial partner for the European satellite navigation system Galileo.

Among other activities, EADS cooperates with Irkut on several projects. In particular, Irkut supplies landing gear and other parts
for the A400M - a new military transport aircraft designed by
EADS - and the companies have formed a joint venture to market Irkut's Be-200 amphibious aircraft in Europe.
